Creative:
A high degree of skill and experience in conceptual and idea generation, excellent visualisation abilities across a wide range of software, methodology and platforms coupled with an in-depth knowledge of usability design and its practical implementations.
Creative Concepts from Brief through to production and using Design skills to ensure the highest of standards of creative for a variety of projects including: Ad Campaigns, Websites, Corporate Identities, Branding Exercises.
Design:
As Senior Designer my main responsibilities are the development of usability, concepts, and design solutions for print and screen based projects and creating complete visual marketing solutions for a wide variety of high profile clients. I am also responsible for the design, navigation and the production of creative assets including animations, 3d design and all graphical elements. I have a high level of knowledge and experience in designing for various media platforms including Internet, Film, 3d, Animation and Presentations.
Illustration:
I have gained a lot of respect as an illustrator over the past few years mainly for developing and applying my own unique style. I believe illustration gives me a great advantage when designing as it really helps me to visualise what I want to do. I have done lots of freelance projects as an illustrator and have had people buy prints of my work on my illustration website. I have also had plenty of people acknowledge the work I have done and one of the best examples of this was my interview for creative magazine Creative Behaviour.
Flash:
I have been working with Flash for 4 years. It is something I seriously got into when I was at university. I am interested in its animation capabilities and the fact it is very creative to design with. I have done many successful a project with this tool. My skills within Flash include 2D and 3D animation, intermediate scripting and editing, and producing some very cool designs. In the past I have had the opportunity of working with some very skilful designers / developers, which has help me to harness and push boundaries of design and animation for the web.
3D Studio Max:
Using this package has given me a good understanding of animation. I have done still artwork and animations both personally as well as commercially. Skills include: Model Making, Animation, and texturing, as well as Character Animation using Character Studio.
Photoshop:
I have done a couple of major projects in After Effects, which were both video presentations for Exhibitions. This is a programme I really enjoy being experimental with and I have used it many times to aid my animations and designs. I have used it as a general frame-grabbing tool many times to capture segments of movie to be either traced or used as gifs. It might be more convenient for me to say that I use this programme more as the Photoshop of dynamic media.
Illustrator and Freehand:
I started to use Illustrator 7 years ago when I was at college. Since then I have done plenty of illustration and design work using this package. I use Freehand as well but I mainly use it for print work as I like the layout features it has. One good moment when using these packages was producing illustrations and backgrounds for cartoon character Johnny Bravo's web site. Another good moment was getting plenty of recognition through my illustration website. I am a keen illustrator and often use these packages for this personally and professionally.
After Effects:
I have done a couple of major projects in After Effects, which were both video presentations for Exhibitions. This is a programme I really enjoy being experimental with and I have used it many times to aid my animations and designs. I have used it as a general frame-grabbing tool many times to capture segments of movie to be either traced or used as gifs. It might be more convenient for me to say that I use this programme more as the Photoshop of dynamic media.
Dreamweaver:
I know HTML as a language quite well but I do like to use Dreamweaver as the preferred tool to put together my websites. I always try and use Dreamweaver because it is for me the most creative HTML program on the market. More recently created a shopping cart system using Dreamweaver called Emporium Online.
Premiere:
I usually like to use Premiere in conjunction with After Effects. Digital video offers so many options like maybe spicing up a website with some footage or perhaps a multi-media production. Something I am looking to do is to explore the hugely exciting, if daunting, possibility of creating my own short film on my very own desktop pc at home. The thing I use mostly is its ability to quickly edit video.

In the past I have enjoyed working with computers both Apple Mac's and PC's and I do most of my work on them. Programs I currently enjoy using are 3D Studio Max, Flash, Illustrator, Freehand and Photoshop. I enjoy surfing the Internet because it is a very good way to communicate and get information from. Apart from computers I enjoy Football and like watching matches. I also like sketching and doing photography.

Work Experience

The Hub - February 2002 - present day
I am currently employed as an Interactive Designer here. I am very pleased to be working with this company as they are one of the best. I originally started as a freelancer and after successful projects stayed on permanently. My role involves design, strategy, Flash development, HTML development, video presentations and 3D animation. So far at The Hub the main client I have worked for is Vodafone. I have recently helped work on an award winning touch screen kiosk and many interactive flash demos for them.
Freelance Work - August 2001 - February 2002
In this time I did major Freelance projects for Hotrod Creations, Children's BBC, Kandibase and The Hub. I also briefly freelanced with DIGITAS and Blue Marble. For Hotrod I created a video intro for an exhibition at Millenium Point in Birmingham. At Childrens BBC I was responsible for the redesign of their website. With Kandibase I worked on a pitch for an online casting company and also redesigned the Kandibase website. More recently at the Hub I helped work on an award winning touch screen kiosk for Vodafone Experience stores. This project was a huge success and helped land me a permanent role with The Hub.
